Romans player Dave Roberts took his first Brighton title by winning the Lower Division Masters. In the final he beat 2009 champion, Gary Mechan. Gary led by 1,280 going into leg 2, but Dave won the 2nd leg to win 5,350 - 3,310.

Dave was seeded 7 and made a bit of a stir in his first match by beating number 2 seed and the 2010/11 most inproved player, Ryan Berrett. A semi final win over teammate Ross Pettiford sent him into the final. In the other half of the draw Bob Mechan (seeded 8) caused a shock knocking out number 1 seed Pete Brown, after Pete went the whole of last season unbeaten in the league. Bob would succumb to his son Gary in the semi final, which was easily to highest scoring match 10,520-8,150.

Well done to Dave for his fitst title after many years playing in the Brighton League.
