DAVE RIDER

DAVE RIDER passed away 3rd May 2005

My best bar billiards memory of Dave was winning the 2000 Brighton Masters, undoubtedly his finest achievement, in many, many years of playing the game. This achievement was extraordinary considering the players present that day, who, included, Jim Millward, Mark James, Steve Mariner, Chris Tupper, Colin Smith, Terry Race and Nigel Senior.

Dave beat Colin Smith in the semi final and then went on to beat Chris Tupper in the final. Considering Dave generally underestimated his own ability, I think it took him quite a while, after he had won it, to actually convince himself he had actually won that day!
Dave was a lovely bloke, and we will all miss him.
