Now there was me thinking " maybe 5 or 6 run-outs tonight". Couldn't have been more incorrect if I had tried. Not one in fact!
Every game went against the first break.
Horseshoes won the toss and chose to break first in games 2 & 4.

Game 1 - Chris Reeves pegged his 4k opener. I touched on at 11k. ;)
Game 2 - Home banker Ian Lelliott next, thinned his first split, leaving both balls up. Gareth made a deliberate 10k and touched on to level the match. :(
Game 3 - The crucial leg for both teams. Steve Mariner (playing for the absent Richard) opened with just under 3k. Geoff (also on his Home Thursday table) replied with two breaks to give us the lead. ;D
Game 4 - Mal missed the red on his first split and came off the next shot. The Tap were forced into playing Nigel next to try and pull the point back. He kicked off with 7k and although Mal got the balls back and had time, he was soon off again. Nigel then killed the game. ::)
Game 5 - So, all down to Marcus & Ricky. Marcus pegged his opener, Ricky made a couple of thousand and on his next go won the match with another 6k. ;) ;D :P

Strange match ???
Still, nice to finish off with a team trophy. Well done the Shoes. Hard luck to the Tap

Alan Messer 12,550 Dave Roberts 0
Mick Pope 6,830 Dave Nicholls 2,750
Jim Parsons 3,740 Toni Hunt 2,610

A game played in good spirit by both sides. Terry easily overcame Colin’s challenge with a series of small breaks.

In game 2 Brian and Paul both looked comfortable and were very close towards the last few minutes but Brian got the balls back to run out on top.

Match score 1:1. Dave Roberts had an opening break of 1500, but Alan was also very comfortable on a good Windmill top and touched up on 10K.

Mike Pope did the captains job in the fourth to bring the Stadium home as winners.

Jim Parsons completed his excellent season and the match with a win against Toni Hunt.

Toni impressed all watching with a break off over 2K – but the overall result Stadium 4 Romans 1.
